 레위기 제사(1-7장)에서 "제물을 씻는 것"은 제사장의 일이 아니라
제물을 가지고 온 사람의 일이 아닌가 싶습니다.
개역성경에서 번역상 주어가 빠진 것이 아닌가 생각됩니다.

레위기 1장 7-8절의 대역본들입니다.

아론의 자손 제사장들은 그 뜬 각과 머리와 기름을 단 윗 불 위에 있는 나무에 벌여 놓을것이며
그 내장과 정갱이를 물로 씻을 것이요 제사장은 그 전부를 단 위에 불살라 번제를 삼을찌니 이는 화제라 여호와께 향기로운 냄새니라

아론의 혈통을 이어 받은 사제들은 이 제단 위에 피운 장작불에 제물의 저민 고기와 머리와 기름기를 차려 놓아야 한다.
제물을 바치는 사람이 내장과 다리들을 물에 씻으면, 사제들은 그것도 제단 위에 차려 놓고 모조리 살라야 한다. 이 번제는 불에 타면서 향기를 풍겨 야훼를 기쁘시게 해 드리는 제사이다.

아론의 혈통을 이어받은 제사장들이, 고기 저민 것과 그 머리와 기름기를 제단에서 불타는 장작 위에 벌여 놓아야 한다.
제물을 가져 온 사람이 내장과 다리를 물에 씻어 주면, 제사장은 그것을 모두 제단 위에다 놓고 불살라야 한다. 이것이 번제인데, 이는 제물을 불에 태워서 그 향기로 주님을 기쁘게 하여 드리는, 살라 바치는 제사이다.

Then Aaron's sons the priests shall arrange the pieces, including the head and the fat, on the burning wood that is on the altar.
He is to wash the inner parts and the legs with water, and the priest is to burn all of it on the altar. It is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, an aroma pleasing to the LORD.
